This morning we went to the library for storytime and they had a visitor from a local llama farm. Besides the fact that Grace was totally excited about the llama's, it was very interesting as well. We all know about the spitting as a defesive mechanism, but I didn't realize that it smelt so bad. Which is odd because my brother was spit on by a llama when we were kids on a trip in Colorado, and I don't remember anything about how bad it smelt. Some more fun facts:
They have extremely course hair, they can see extremely far away just as clear as they can see right in front of them
They have banana shaped ears and can hear really well too but hate to be touched on their ears (this is because they can no longer see your hand).
They have feet and toe nails like dogs.
Love to eat grass and "llama treats".
And one of my favorite facts is that the females are pregnant for 11 months and 1 week and they breed them 21 days after they give birth. They only get 21 days off...poor things.
