Gavin has Grown

Gavin
3 days old

1 year old
Today Gavin had his 1 year check up and he is doing great. He is 21 lbs. 7 oz. and almost 30 in. tall. He is now on whole milk and seems to like it. Gavin is a great eater. Some of his favorite foods are: grapes, strawberries, frozen peas, cheesy eggs, spaghetti, pizza, "broccoli trees", chicken, etc. He has this crazy walk that we call "Frank" and recently it has become a run. He chases Grace around the house; she will go and get her bike and ride it around while he holds on to the back for dear life. He likes to hold on to objects while he is drinking his bottle, reading a book, or settling down. Some of his favorites are a spatula, cap of a bottle, my camera bag, thermometer case. His absolute favorite thing is his green blanky. If he sees his blanky he will run to it, grab it, bite it, and then start rolling on the ground with it. It is so hilarious to watch. He LOVES it, and will even do the same to Grace's identical pink one. It is so interesting that out of all the blankets they each had, they both picked out the same blanket (differnt colors of course) to take on as their "Blanky".
Gavin is babbling a bit and says dada, mama, ga (grace). If you call him from another room he recognizes his name and will come running. He is really aggressive and likes to wrestle and is really ticklish too. In the morning, Randy gets him and changes his diaper then brings him to me in bed and we snuggle, wrestle, and he gets his bottle (he used to nurse). I love this time with him and then when he is all done he starts looking for Daddy and with my help he wiggles off the bed. He looks in the bathroom/kitchen, where ever Daddy might be and goes to find him. It is the sweetest thing and something that we both look forward to each day. During breakfast Grace usually wakes up and as soon as she sees Gavin she lights up and says, "Hey there Buddy Roo!" She calls him Buddy Roo, Gav, and Bibble. Not sure why, but it is super cute.
It is such a joy to watch Gavin develop and see the differences between him and Grace. He is such a boy!! We are so lucky that he is OUR little Boy!!
